Havířov is a city in the Karviná District. Administratively Havířov became a town by virtue of the appropriate decree of the Czech Government in 1955, which makes Havířov the youngest city in Czech republic. Havířov was founded after WWII as a coal mining town. Havířov is also known for type of architecture. When city was found there were build mostly apartment buildings and city building in socialist realism style also known as Sorela. And because of that the Sorela part of town was declared as a major cultural monuments.
