Litvínov

Litvínov is a town in the Ústí nad Labem Region. The oldest record dates back from 1352 (Lutwinow). Originally there were two seats – Upper and Lower Litvinov with fortresses. There are 1715 the count Jan Josef Wallenstein established a large factory for production of cloth, one of the first in the Czech lands.

Litvinov was made as town on August 5, 1852. In 1939 he was in Zaluzi south of the city under the name STW established large chemical plant producing synthetic gasoline from coal, today Unipetrol RPA.

Today is the Litvínov important center of chemical and textile industry, also crossroads remote pipelines.
