Teplice is located in northwestern Bohemia near the border with the Germanstate of Saxony. It is situated in the plain of the Bílina river, which separates the Ore Mountains  in the northwest from the Bohemian Central Mountains in the southeast.  It is the second largest spa town after Karlovy Vary.

In the 12th century began colonizing activities of religious orders in the border areas started to build their monasteries. Thanks to that Teplice has a number of interesting sights. There are as many churches as well as many other attractions such as the castle, Ball House and many beautiful monuments.
